About The Event

*Reserved for M1 students

Dear M1 Students,

This email intends to present the 5th edition of the Banking Trek, a unique event that the ESCP Europe Finance Society created for all MiM M1 students.

What is the ESCP Europe Banking Trek 2018?

The ESCP Europe Banking Trek consists of a week of visits and events in the major financial institutions’ headquarters in London, like Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. During this week, you will get precious insights about the firms and their internship opportunities.

During each visit, you will attend presentations and events, which will help you to understand how an Investment Bank operates while learning about the bank's culture and values.

In addition, you will meet professionals and ESCP Europe Alumni, currently working in the banks, which may be a valuable asset for your application process.

Last year, the Trek was a success.

We selected 25 top students and there were 11 financial institutions participating.

When does it take place?

The event will take place from the 24th of September until the 28th of September.

The Banks Involved in the 2018 edition:

Arma Partners

Barclays

Bloomberg

Credit Suisse

Goldman Sachs

HSBC

Mediobanca

Morgan Stanley

PJT Partners

and a few more can confirm their participation in the following days.

How to Participate and Screening Process

Please send an email with your CV and Cover Letter to financesociety@escpeurope.biz in the same PDF file by Wednesday 12th September 2018 at 18.00 (CET time). Due to the limited hosting capacity of the participating institutions, there are limited places for the event (25 students).

However, since some institutions can host more students, some of you can be selected to participate to 1/2 visits only.

The screening will be made by a selected group of ESCP Europe Alumni, currently working in investment banks, supported by the Finance Society Board and will be based on the relevant academic and working experiences of applicants.

Accommodation

Over the past years, non-london based participants have usually found accommodation at their friend’s places during the Banking Trek. Should you, however, require accommodation in London then please let us know and we will match you with one of our UK students to host you during the Banking Trek week.

However, in case you don't find accomodation you should pay for it on your own.

>> FOR LONDON-BASED STUDENTS: Like in the previous years, we would like to offer participants coming from other campuses the chance to stay at London students’ accommodations during the Banking Trek. Aside from supporting other ESCP Europe students, this opportunity will allow you to network with fellow students sharing your same passion and interest for finance. Therefore, please indicate whether or not you are happy to host a student when sending us your application. Students will be advised that in some cases they might be required to bring their own sleeping bag. We will appreciate a lot your collaboration!
