About The Event

Girl Up ESCP is holding a donation collection event named Hygiene Drive that will be ongoing throughout the week and beginning of next week.

The London campus ESCP community is invited to donate feminine hygiene products to help unsheltered women to acquire the basic human comforts of health and cleanliness.

Hygiene is one of the major barriers to unsheltered people’s ability to connect with others, including potential employers. Poor hygiene is also a significant cause of health problems in people who experience homelessness. The Girl Up collection box will be in the student lounge from the 29th of November to the 6th of December. After that, Girl Up ESCP members (Loane Jimenez, Emma Fjalland and Louise Blin) will give the donated products to charities supporting shelter homes in London. The list of Shelters is as follows:

  1. The Salvation Army (Hendon), 1-5 Brampton Grove, London NW4 4AE
  2. Notre Dame Refugee Centre (Leicester Square), 5 Leicester Pl, London WC2H 7BX

Products accepted are:

  • Pads
  • Tampons
  • Pantyliners
  • Menstrual cups
  • Cloth pads
  • Period underwear
  • Intimate gel washes
  • Feminine wipes

N.B: Travel-size products also allow individuals to carry these supplies in their own bags.

About Girl Up ESCP As part of the global movement initiated by the UN Foundation, Girl Up ESCP aims to fight against all forms of injustice and inequality women and girls face worldwide. Our objective is to raise awareness of alarming issues and to collect funds to support associations improving women's lives in the cities we live in. In addition, we aim to educate students on our respective ESCP campuses about gender equality issues and connect them with advocates and speakers to provide them with an opportunity for open discussion on issues they care about. While the society is called Girl Up, we are inclusive of all genders and sexes, as gender equality is an issue affecting everyone.
