About The Event

Alongside ESCP's Berlin, London, Madrid and Paris students, these three days will welcome guests from other top ranked French business schools HEC, ESSEC and EM Lyon. YES to UN will feature an opening conference with guest speaker from the French Embassy, who will share his personal experience within the United Nations. The following two days will see UN simulation games, during which participants must reach an international agreement on a specific issue, using United Nations rules and procedures.

Training for the simulation is mandatory as the rules of the UN are very complex. Each business school has been assigned a country which its delegation will represent. Over the course of the summit, ESCP students based in London will train the visiting students in the rules, protocols and negotiation methods of the United Nations, led by Annabelle Von Barczy, the London Campus Call ON'U Society President and Master in Management student.

YES to UN 2017 video

The Model UN session in New York City will take place in March 2020.  In New York they will be expected to participate in negotiations led by young UN officials as Chairs, beginning in hotel-based committee meetings and then moving to UN Headquarters. Delegations will be assessed on their capacity to conduct a deal negotiation, serving the global interest without losing sight of the national interest of their represented country. To achieve this takes a combination of interpersonal and oratorical skills, as well as a good knowledge of geopolitics, international law and the functioning the UN bureaucracy.
